Lead iOS Software Engineer - New York City

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
• We look for hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We need advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including experience designing and implementing iOS applications with SwiftUI.
• We value demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for accuracy, performance, and security.
• We expect a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and alignment with resiliency and security standards, plus experience coaching engineers on compliant adoption.
• We require experience with API integration and working knowledge of Linux, Mac OS X, GNU tools, and scripting languages.
• We look for experience with iOS frameworks such as Foundation, UIKit, CocoaTouch, and Core Data, along with unit testing frameworks and code coverage tools for Swift.
• We need experience using Xcode tools such as Debug Memory Graph, Debug View Hierarchy, and Instruments for profiling.
• We require experience with design patterns such as MVC, MVVM, MVP, and Singleton, plus working knowledge of Git/Bitbucket version control.
• We expect experience creating an application available in Apples App Store.
• We seek advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Preferred: in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• Preferred: practical cloud-native experience.

• We develop creative software solutions, including design, coding, and technical troubleshooting, using approaches that go beyond routine methods to resolve complex technical issues.
• We build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by other engineers.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while maintaining consistent validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
• We apply knowledge of tools across the software development lifecycle, including authorized AI-enabled development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We identify and remove recurring issues through automation or remediation to strengthen the stability of our software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural design, technical credibility, and fit within our existing systems and information architecture.
