Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location Peculiar, MO 64078 Assignment Dates Start Date: August 10, 2026 End Date: May 16, 2027 Schedule Traditional K–12 School-Based Schedule Position Summary Seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based occupational therapy services in an early childhood educational setting. The Occupational Therapist will perform evaluations and provide therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders, educational requirements, and all applicable state, federal, and professional regulations. The OT will develop individualized treatment plans that support student independence, participation, and functional performance within the educational environment while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with all requirements. Essential Responsibilities Complete comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations as ordered and appropriate. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address student needs and educational goals. Restore and/or maintain each student's highest possible level of function and participation. Provide occupational therapy interventions, including: Therapeutic activities Therapeutic exercises Functional skill development Activities of Daily Living (ADL) training Sensory and motor-based interventions Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families. Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding treatment goals and recommendations. Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with professional standards. Complete all required service and billing documentation. Participate in transition planning, family meetings, consultations, and student-centered planning activities. Provide direction and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides in accordance with state practice acts and regulations. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an AOTA-accredited Occupational Therapy program. Current active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice. Current NBCOT Certification. Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications One year of Occupational Therapy experience strongly preferred. Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred. Experience working with students receiving special education services. Knowledge of IEP development and implementation. Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary educational teams.
