As a Sr. Water/Wastewater Design Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, creation, production of drawings, plans, and specs, as well as evaluating current processes and making recommendations to improve efficiency and outcome. You will also oversee a team of engineers and designers, offering guidance, mentorship, and disciplinary actions as needed. The ideal candidate for this position has a deep understanding of design and engineering principles, experience with management or leadership, and strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Responsibilities Lead a multi‑disciplined delivery team to complete tasks within budgets. Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of project management with a high degree of technical complexity and a focus on profitability. Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with other disciplined engineers, project leads, and our clients. Building interpersonal relationships, facilitating conflict resolution, and leading our local team. Comprehensive understanding of water and wastewater theory and industry practices, standards, and their applications. Experience in the design of water and or wastewater non‑infrastructure from the feasibility stage through to detailed design including the development of piping and instrumentation diagrams, control philosophies, distribution/collection systems and detailed process calculations. Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary design team, liaising directly with clients and other project team members. Experience and capable in delivering process elements of design on small, medium, or large water and wastewater projects. Strong Mathematical and Analytical skills including use of MS Excel. Excellent written and oral English communication. Working successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. Provide detailed calculations for water/wastewater processes. Prepare technical specifications and detailed designs. 10 plus years of experience in design, construction administration of municipal wastewater projects. Water/Wastewater treatment design and optimization experience. Consulting engineering, cost estimating and specification writing experience. Must possess a valid driver's license. Ability to serve as the technical liaison/leader between the client and the design team. Desire for both personal and team growth, and the ability to manage and motivate a multi‑disciplinary team. Business development, interpersonal, and networking skills that can be combined with the significant resources that we have available. Design/drafting experience on site/civil projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Lead a team of engineers and designers, offering mentorship and guidance. Create reports to present to stakeholders and management on the state of the team, production, and more. Qualifications Bachelor's or higher in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field desired. Must have a Texas Professional Engineering License. Previous leadership or management experience desired. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
