Using a non-judgmental, harm-reduction approach, staff model and guide residents to create and meet personalized recovery goals, develop independent living skills, and live in a healthy and secure manner. Position Overview The Jewish Board is the largest human services agency in New York City, serving more than 43,000 clients each year. The Program Assistant will provide programs with accomplishing various support service provisions. Key Essential Functions Offer program and administrative support to all programs in the Adult Residential Services area Work closely with senior staff to assist in the creation and maintenance of proposal materials and generate reports Prepare and manage protected health information as well as other confidential materials Fulfill general clerical duties such as registering clients, greeting walk-in visitors, answering phones, responding to inquiries about Adult Residential programs, photocopying, faxing, and mailing sensitive material Manual labor is essential in completing this position’s required tasks Core Competencies Compassion and respect for vulnerable individuals Patience and understanding for the sometimes slow process of stabilization and recovery Strong verbal and written communication skills Attentiveness to clients and colleagues Adaptability to address situations Building and maintaining positive relationships Demonstrating professionalism Supporting good health Supporting safety Educational / Training Required High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to multi-task, problem solve, work creatively and independently, and function in a team environment Experience Required / Language Preference Experience and language preference details are not specified in this posting.
