Recruiting Specialist Job Summary

The Recruiting Specialist drives applicant activity to support the team in achieving weekly interview goals. They conduct a high level of outreach to new applicants and/or sourced candidates to increase interview volume for the office and begin the initial steps in the Employment Selection Process via phone (sometimes in person). The initial phone inquiry is designed to increase efficiency of the applicant experience for both a phone and in-person inquiry by reducing the time an applicant is in the office and the time the Employment Specialist spends interviewing applicants. The Recruiting Specialist must possess the ability to type and have a conversation at the same time, and strong phone and interpersonal skills are essential.

Recruiting Specialist Job Responsibilities

• Work alongside the recruiting and marketing team to implement the recruiting strategy to drive the necessary applicant and interview volume. (Team Goal: 100 interviews per week)
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve overall office goals.
• Make a high level of outbound phone calls to potential candidates.
• Contact new job applicants.
• Source and contact candidates from job boards and social media.
• Reach out to past associates and applicants.
• Complete 30 outbound phone calls per day.
• Conduct initial inquiry calls with applicants.
• Conduct the initial applicant inquiry over the phone or in-person. Document information in the Express automated system. Transfer the applicant to an Employment Specialist to complete a phone interview or schedule an interview for later.
• Complete 42 inquiry calls per week.
• Schedule 33 interviews per week.
• 27 interviews kept per week.
• Create a professional first impression for all phone, online, or in-person inquiries.
• Answer phones and assist with general associate/client questions and support.
• Commit to meeting regularly with Recruiting Manager or leader for continued development.
• Learn and use Situational Leadership language in meetings.
• Prepare reports and provide metrics/activity levels to Recruiting Manager or leader prior to scheduled meetings.
• Use the Performance Management Process to track performance, development, and feedback.
• Commit to a quarterly Individual Development Plan (IDP).
• Cross-trained and able to complete the duties of the Front Office Coordinator.
• Assist at front desk during peak business times.
• Assist in covering the lunch hour daily.
• Ability to manage in-office process while maintaining five-star customer service.
• Assist in community recruiting/marketing initiatives as needed, including hosting job fairs, posting fliers, yard signs, and other recruiting materials around the local area.
• Backup support as needed to manage external job boards, postings, and application follow-up.
• Research and implement job posting best practices to maximize results.
• Download all new applications in a timely manner.
• Implement application follow-up process to promptly contact new applicants with phone calls, text messages, emails, etc.
• Backup support as needed to manage recruiting focused social media activities.
• Post and manage recruiting focused content, provide content ideas and guidance for various social media platforms.
• Assist with and respond to comments/engagement on social media.
• Post in various social media groups to promote jobs and hiring events.
• Conduct business in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational guidelines.
• Adhere to Express systems and policies.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of the staffing and placement services offered by Express.
• Maintain an understanding of various employment-related documents and materials.
• Develop and maintain professional knowledge of the market and staffing industry.
• Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Recruiting Specialist Qualifications

• Must be able to work effectively under stress and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to type and have a phone conversation at the same time.
• Strong typing and data entry abilities.
• Strong technical skills and ability to learn various technological platforms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player mindset.
• Desire to play a supporting role in a team environment.
