## Accountant IApplylocations: Athens, GA, USA: Atlanta, GA, USAtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: R-106211**Job Description**The Accountant I is responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established financial policies and procedures.**Reports to:** Divisional Controller - Corporate Accounting**Direct Reports:** None**Duties/Responsibilities:** The duties listed below are an outline of the Accountant I’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.* Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.* Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.* Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment collections.* Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.* Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.* Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.* Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.* Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.* Support the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.* Assist in various ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as needed.**Education & Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.* 0-2 years of accounting experience.**Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities.*** Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.**Work Environment*** The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
