Miltec UV Mechanical Engineer Miltec is a UV equipment manufacturer based in Stevensville, Maryland, that provides custom-designed UV curing systems. Job Summary Design, develop, and qualify electromechanical components and sub-assemblies used in UV curing systems. Works with reasonable independence at the sub‑assembly or system level. Duties and Responsibilities Design, develop, and qualify UV curing equipment (components, products, systems) based on customer requirements. Apply engineering fundamentals to solve complex mechanical design problems. Develop product requirements documents (PRD) based on input from customers, sales, manufacturing, field service, and process engineering. Assist Custom Projects Engineering Manager in documenting and releasing designs as directed. Prepare and execute test plans to validate product performance. Coordinate and direct the creation of all documentation required to support the project. Work with electrical and software engineers as required to develop machine control systems. Use industry‑standard guidelines to develop sheet metal, machined, extruded, cast, welded, molded, chemically machined, and thermoformed components that result in cost‑competitive products meeting customer requirements. Work closely with purchasing, manufacturing, and field service to facilitate the production, testing, and commissioning of UV curing equipment. Familiarity with project management and target profit margins. Travel as required (approximately 10% domestic and 5% international). Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements BS Mechanical Engineering degree and 3–5 years of pertinent experience in custom equipment manufacturing/systems integration. Experience in electro‑mechanical packaging. Demonstrated design creativity and the ability to operate independently and lead product development efforts. Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) to create models and documentation. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management software. Able to lift 30 lbs, install subsystems into process equipment, and make adjustments within equipment. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Must be able to quickly adapt to fast‑changing priorities and deadlines. Must have a working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems; knowledge of optical systems is a plus. Why Join Us?
