TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Chesapeake, Virginia, 23320!

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Neuro & Stroke)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Neurology and Stroke unit
• Manage a patient assignment with a typical ratio of 1:7
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
• Perform neurological assessments utilizing the NIHSS scale for stroke and neurology patients
• Rotate every other weekend, float as needed, and work required holidays within the contract period

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• Epic EMR proficiency required — no exceptions
• Previous experience caring for Neurology and/or Stroke patients required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association, and NIHSS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Demonstrated competency in EKG interpretation including interval measurements and complex rhythm identification
• Comfort and experience working with higher patient ratios in a fast-paced medical surgical environment
