MANAGER III, DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES

Position Overview Title: Manager III, Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Salary Range: $6,681.00 – $8,362.00 per month. Location: DMV Headquarters, 2415 First Avenue, MS E678, Sacramento, CA. Responsibilities Report directly to the Unit Manager V, DMV. Supervise and train Manager I personnel, DMV, ensuring effective coverage of the unit’s functions. Oversee workflow and performance of Senior Motor Vehicle Technicians (SMVT), Control Cashier I/II, Motor Vehicle Representative, Motor Vehicle Assistant, and Account Clerk. Manage unit processes, coordinate with internal and external customers, and maintain continuous communication to resolve issues promptly. Working Conditions Office setting with cubicle work and interaction with all staff. Primary tasks include reviewing statistical information, handling paper documents, and operating a computer and telephone. Work environment with high noise levels. Ability to lift trays and boxes weighing up to 25 lbs. Requirement to stand for extended periods during shifts. Repetitive movements for a significant portion of the workday. Minimum Requirements Minimum qualifications are stated in the Class Specification for the Manager III, DMV position. Candidates must meet or exceed all listed qualifications, including experience, education, and competency requirements as defined by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Special Requirements Successful completion of a background investigation and clearance is required before hire. Desirable Qualifications Effective written and verbal communication skills. Analytical ability to evaluate unit processes and recommend improvements.
