Description

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographer/Sleep Technologist for a night shift hospital assignment requiring an active OR Polysomnography license in hand.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital setting with 108 total staff beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 7:00
• Weekend shifts required, with Friday night extending into Saturday morning
• Block schedule required
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• No floating between units required
• No on-call required
• Uses Epic for charting
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience required
• BLS certification required
• OR Polysomnography License required (license required if applicable), RPSGT preferred
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in monitoring including End-Tidal CO2, ECG, EEG, O2 Saturation, and Periodic Limb Movement
• Experience with PSG, RIP, and various sleep study types including MSLT, baseline PSG, and home sleep tests
• Experience with staging and scoring including arousal, Cheyne-Stokes, complex sleep apnea, hypopnea, and respiratory events
• Experience with titration therapies including CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, ASV, and oxygen administration
• Experience with mask fitting including full face, nasal mask, and nasal pillow
• Knowledge of infection control and patient education
• Experience with ResMed equipment

Additional Information

• Perform overnight sleep studies including monitoring, scoring, and titration of therapy for patients with sleep disorders
• First-time travelers are considered for this position
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront with minimal flexibility post-offer
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Candidates may be expected to float between sister facilities within the state
