About the Position

Job Title

Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (Travel Contract)

Location

Portland, ME | Acute Care – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days/Evenings (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | 26-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub technologist duties in a high-volume, Level 1 trauma operating room environment
• Support surgical procedures across a variety of specialties including general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and more
• Operate and assist with advanced surgical equipment including Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robotic systems
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio within a 26-bed OR suite, ensuring patient safety and surgical readiness
• Participate in a 1:4 weekend rotation and fulfill one overnight trauma call requirement (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) ; specialty team members will follow specialty-specific call scheduling
• Document and navigate patient information using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in General, GU/GYN, Orthopedic Trauma, Orthopedic Joints, or Neurosurgery
• Background in ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, or Endovascular procedures
• Demonstrated ability to adapt across surgical specialties and teams
