About the Opportunity: The Machinist position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components. Location: Stuart, FL. Onsite. Monday to Thursday, 5 AM to 3 PM. Responsibilities: Operate Manual or CNC equipment to produce components as outlined in the methods and process sheets Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required Loads and deletes programs in the computer Learn the machinability of metals Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function Maintains a neat and orderly work area Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions Performs other related duties as assigned Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis. Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Doosan VTS and/or Okuma VTM Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude Knowledge and ability to use machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry Effective written and verbal communications skills to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak before employees in the organization Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, at times up to 50 pounds. Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually middling.
