About the Role:
Desert Elite Electric & Construction, Inc is looking for a hardworking and dependable Underground Laborer to join our growing team in Indio, CA. This is a hands-on opportunity to be part of exciting construction projects in the desert, where your work makes a real impact every day. Responsibilities:
Assist with underground utility installation, including conduit, cable, and electrical infrastructure
Perform excavation, trenching, and backfilling operations using hand and power tools
Support crew members during underground electrical and construction projects
Follow all jobsite safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company procedures
Operate and maintain hand tools, shovels, compactors, and other labor equipment
Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and material handling throughout the project lifecycle
Communicate effectively with foremen and crew leads to ensure efficient workflow
Requirements:
Prior experience in underground construction, utility work, or general labor preferred
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods
Familiarity with trenching, shoring, and underground utility safety practices is a plus
OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
Reliable transportation and ability to report to jobsites in the Indio, CA area
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-first attitude
Ability to work outdoors in extreme desert heat conditions
