• Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift - 3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Job Summary

This travel nursing opportunity is for a Registered Nurse specializing in IMC / IICU (Intermediate Intensive Care) . The position is available as a 13 or 26 week contract and requires working 2 of the 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. The unit cares for adult patients including trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1-2 hours. The unit receives direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams. Special equipment available includes Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate and intensive care nursing to adult patients including trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1-2 hours.
• Manage patients admitted directly to the unit as well as ICU transfers and escalations from Rapid Response Teams.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
• Manage medications including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Manage ventilated patients as required by acuity.
• Utilize EPIC for all clinical documentation and charting.
• Operate and utilize special unit equipment including Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps.
• Float to other units or campuses as needed; floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies.
• Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period.
• Must work 2 of the 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
• Medication management skills including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Ventilator experience required.
• Experience with ICU or IICU required; progressive care settings such as PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown will be considered based on acuity.
• Ability to manage patients at a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• 1 year of EPIC experience required.
• Willingness and ability to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas with documented competencies.
• Ability to adhere to facility scheduling requirements including weekend and holiday obligations.
• All RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted with the initial application; requests will only be accommodated if approved by the facility at the time of booking.

Education Requirements

• Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate (compact) RN license required (pending license not accepted).
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required.
• Previous IICU/ICU experience with an acuity of at least 1:3 required.
• First-time travelers accepted; however, 3 years of experience within the specialty is required for first-time travelers - must have critical care experience .

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night shift position: 3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period.
• Must work 2 of the 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period.
• Floating required to other units or campuses as needed; floating limited to qualified areas with documented competencies.
• Flu vaccine required - no exemptions.
• COVID-19 vaccine not required.
• Physical demands include use of ceiling lifts and Hercules patient re-positioners.
• Patient acuity requires monitoring and interventions every 1-2 hours.

• All RTO, block scheduling, and special scheduling requests must be included with the submission . Requests will only be accommodated if approved by the facility at the time of booking.

• Pending license not accepted - must have an active SC or multistate RN license at time of submission.
• VMS/MSP: Qualivis MSP.
