Paralegal / Case Manager

Location: South Florida, FL
Schedule: Full-Time, Primarily Remote
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000
Employment Type: Hourly, with overtime eligibility

Position Overview

Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a Paralegal / Case Manager for a respected litigation firm representing seriously injured individuals.

The Case Manager will work closely with attorneys and other members of the legal team to manage cases throughout the litigation process. This is a fast-paced environment requiring someone who is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and able to keep up with multiple cases and deadlines.

The position is primarily remote, but candidates must be located in South Florida . The firm periodically attends hearings and trials throughout South Florida, with most occurring in Miami-Dade County and some in Broward County. The firm also handles matters throughout Florida, including the west coast of the state.

Responsibilities

The Paralegal / Case Manager will provide litigation support to attorneys and manage a variety of case-related responsibilities, including:

• Responding to discovery requests
• Preparing motions and other litigation documents
• Drafting complaints, demand letters, pleadings, and related correspondence
• Scheduling depositions, hearings, and other case-related events
• Maintaining case calendars and tracking important deadlines
• Processing incoming and outgoing mail and faxes
• Communicating with clients, experts, medical providers, and opposing counsel
• Assisting attorneys with case preparation and litigation strategy
• Organizing and maintaining case files and documentation
• Coordinating with Medical Case Managers regarding medical records and related documentation
• Assisting with preparation for doctors' depositions
• Reviewing and organizing medical records and medical chronologies
• Filing incoming medical documentation
• Providing additional case management and litigation support as needed

Qualifications

• Two- or four-year college degree or paralegal certificate
• Prior law firm experience
• Litigation experience
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good typing and computer skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to take initiative
• Professional and service-oriented approach when working with attorneys and clients
• Demonstrated stability and longevity in previous positions
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Federal litigation or Federal Court experience preferred
• Personal injury litigation experience
• Experience managing complex litigation matters
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Federal litigation experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong state-court litigation experience who can demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and manage a demanding caseload are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment

This is a primarily remote position for a candidate located in South Florida.

The role may occasionally require attendance at hearings, depositions, trials, or in-person client meetings. Trials and hearings are generally held in Miami-Dade County, with occasional matters in Broward County and other areas of Florida. In-person client meetings are infrequent.
