Type of Position:

This position will begin as a 6-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 6 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.

Candidate Requirements:

This role requires candidates to be US Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card holders). The company is unable to sponsor or transfer visas now or in the future, and candidates on F-1 (including OPT/CPT), H-1B, TN, or any other visa status are not eligible. Offers may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen (including testing for cannabis).

Job Location:

Gulf Breeze, FL (on site role).

Compensation:

$23.00/hr to start (this will go up over time). Overtime is paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate for any hours worked over 40 in a week. When converted to direct hire, you will be eligible for an extensive PTO package.

• This position does not include paid time off during the contract period. When converting to direct hire, you would become eligible for extensive PTO.

Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a leading provider of secure, mission-critical technologies for aerospace and defense. We are seeking an Electronics Test Technician to support the testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of electronic circuit boards and related products. This individual will conduct functional and electrical testing, identify defects or performance issues, and troubleshoot assemblies down to the component level.

The ideal candidate will have strong electronics knowledge, experience reading schematics, and hands-on proficiency with electrical test equipment. Experience working to IPC-A-610 Class 3 and J-STD-001 standards is strongly preferred. Candidates who are not currently certified must be capable of successfully completing the applicable certification training through our company.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical, functional, and diagnostic testing of printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, products, and systems in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
• Troubleshoot circuit boards and electronic assemblies down to the component level.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, test specifications, work instructions, and related documentation.
• Set up, operate, and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
• Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Record test data, observations, measurements, and results accurately and promptly.
• Identify and document defects, malfunctions, failures, and deviations from specifications.
• Isolate root causes of technical issues and recommend or perform appropriate corrective actions.
• Perform soldering, rework, and repair activities when qualified and required.
• Inspect workmanship and electronic assemblies for compliance with applicable quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality personnel, manufacturing employees, and other team members to analyze test results and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of test procedures and processes.
• Maintain test equipment, tools, fixtures, and work areas in proper operating condition.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory or industry standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED is required at a minimum (higher level experience is also welcomed).
• 3 or more years of relevant electronics testing, circuit-board troubleshooting, or related technician experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic assemblies down to the component level.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
• Working knowledge of electronic components, printed circuit boards, and electrical testing methodologies.
• Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
• Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
• Ability to document test results and technical findings clearly and accurately.
• Basic computer proficiency for test-data entry, documentation, and analysis.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Understanding of quality-control principles, workmanship requirements, and manufacturing procedures.

Preferred:

• Associate degree, technical diploma, or certification in electronics, electrical technology, engineering technology, or a related discipline.
• 5 or more years of relevant electronics testing, circuit-board troubleshooting, or related technician experience preferred.
• Current soldering or inspection certification to IPC-A-610 Class 3 and/or J-STD-001 standards.
• Experience testing, troubleshooting, repairing, or inspecting high-reliability electronic assemblies.
• Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated production environment.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

• This is a 1st (day) shift position following a 9/80 schedule. Employees typically work 9 hour days starting at 6:00AM, Monday through Thursday, and a six-hour day on alternating Fridays. Every other Friday is a scheduled day off.
• There may be occasional overtime which would be compensated at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate.
• Offer may be contingent upon passing a background check and a drug screen (drug screen would include Cannabis because this role works for a defense contractor).
