Job Summary:
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin location is seeking a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse for a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Level III Perinatal Center. This role involves providing care to high-risk mothers and newborns, including complex procedures such as placenta accreta support, cervical exams, assisting in cesarean sections, and managing postpartum and labor recoveries. Candidates must bring their license on the first day and have at least two years of relevant experience.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Must be available to work 12-hour shifts, seven days a week, with every other weekend, and patterned scheduling where possible.
• Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Fetal Heart Monitor (FHM) certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, experience with fetal monitoring, maternal assessments/interventions, high-risk postpartum care, cervical exams, OB triage, assisting in cesarean sections, providing care for high-risk mothers and newborns, and some equipment proficiency including fetal monitoring and epidural pumps.
• Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
• Float: Travelers will float first to other inpatient womens care units.
• Additional Information:
  • First Day: Meet with nurse manager for onboarding, followed by unit training.
  • Second Day: Training with preceptor.
  • Third Day: Assigned a work buddy and own patient assignment.
  • Orientation is structured over three days.
  • No set schedules; shifts are assigned based on current staffing needs.
  • RTO requests should be emailed to the nurse manager.
  • Parking is provided free of charge.
  • The traveler will be fit-tested for PPE; CAPR/PAPR equipment available.
  • No on-call responsibilities unless for low census.
  • Holiday work required every other holiday, starting from the date of assignment.
