Opportunity:

RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must have Level III Perinatal Care Experience - no exceptions
• Must have provided care for high-risk mothers and newborns
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Must be available to work 7 days a week with flexible scheduling
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required based on start date
• Patient ratios: 1:1-2 active labor, 1:3 antepartum following AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM
• Care for high-risk mothers and newborns with conditions including placenta accreta, pre-eclampsia, and COVID patients
• Perform fetal monitoring, maternal assessments, cervical exams, OB triage
• Assist with circulating C-sections and serve as primary nurse for vaginal deliveries
• Handle post-partum care and labor & delivery recoveries
• Support approximately 280 deliveries per month
• Assist with procedures including tubal ligations, cerclages, hysterectomies, and massive transfusions
• Float to postpartum and women's care center as needed
• Use EPIC charting system and equipment including Alaris, Pyxis, fetal monitoring, and epidural pumps
• Scrubs provided, free parking in designated areas
• Three-day orientation with preceptor and work buddy assignment

Facility:

This 228-bed teaching hospital serves as a Level IV Trauma Center with comprehensive women's health services. The facility features a Level III NICU and Level III Perinatal Center, along with designation as an Accreta Center of Excellence and Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center. The labor and delivery unit operates 20 beds with robust support including 24/7 OB anesthesia, OBGYN residents, family practice doctors, and certified nurse midwives. The facility maintains high standards for maternal and newborn care with specialized capabilities for high-risk pregnancies and complex deliveries.
