Opportunity:

RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling - must be available to work 7 days a week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required based on start date
• 2 years of experience required - first-time travelers not accepted
• Must have Level III Perinatal Care Experience with high-risk mothers and newborns
• Patient ratios: 1:1-2 active labor, 1:3 antepartum following AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Care for high-risk pregnancies including placenta accreta, pre-eclampsia, tubal ligation, cerclage, and hysterectomies
• Assist as secondary nurse for C-section deliveries and circulate in vaginal deliveries
• Provide surgical recovery care, newborn care, and handle massive transfusions
• Perform fetal monitoring, maternal assessments, cervical exams, OB triage, and post-partum care
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM
• May float to Postpartum and Women's Care Center units
• Use EPIC charting system, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and fetal monitoring equipment
• Handle approximately 280 deliveries per month
• No on-call requirements except for low census situations
• Scrubs provided, free designated parking available
• 3-day orientation with preceptor and work buddy assignment

Facility:

This 228-bed teaching hospital serves as a Level IV Trauma Center and Level III NICU with specialized perinatal services. The facility operates as an Accreta Center of Excellence and Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center, providing high-acuity care with 24/7 OBGYN anesthesia support. The 20-bed Labor and Delivery unit features OBGYN residents, family practice physicians, and certified nurse midwives, supported by clinical resource nurses, respiratory therapy, and comprehensive laboratory services.
