Director of Alumni and Community Engagement Sarasota, Florida, United States Company Cardinal Mooney Catholic High Job Description Title: Director of Alumni and Community Engagement Reports to : Director of Advancement and/or Principal Location: Cardinal Mooney High School |Sarasota, FL Overview The Director of Alumni and Community Engagement advances the mission of Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School by cultivating lifelong relationships among alumni, parents, grandparents, benefactors, community partners, parishes, and friends of the school. Serving as a key ambassador for Cardinal Mooney, the Director creates meaningful opportunities for constituents to remain connected to the school through communications, events, volunteerism, professional networking, service, mentorship, and philanthropy. Job Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy designed to build lifelong relationships between Cardinal Mooney and its graduates. Establish regular opportunities for alumni to reconnect with the school, classmates, faculty, and current students. Recruit, cultivate, and support alumni volunteers and class representatives who can extend the reach of the school's engagement efforts. Create intentional opportunities to engage young alumni and graduating seniors so that alumni relationships begin before students leave Cardinal Mooney. Develop a consistent alumni communications strategy in collaboration with the other members of the Advancement team. Identify compelling alumni stories that demonstrate the lifelong impact of a Cardinal Mooney education. Develop alumni spotlights highlighting professional achievement, service, family milestones, faith, leadership, and continued connection to Cardinal Mooney. Serve as an ambassador for Cardinal Mooney throughout Sarasota and the surrounding community. Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, civic organizations, parishes, universities, and other community partners. Identify opportunities for Cardinal Mooney students, faculty, alumni, and families to participate in community initiatives and partnerships. Represent Cardinal Mooney at appropriate community events, networking Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Special Events on major institutional events involving alumni and community constituents. Work collaboratively with the Director of Advancement to cultivate a culture of engagement and philanthropy among alumni. Help identify alumni and community members with the interest and capacity to become increasingly involved with Cardinal Mooney. Work collaboratively with the Director of Advancement Services to maintain accurate and comprehensive alumni records. Develop strategies for obtaining updated alumni contact information, employment information, family connections, and areas of interest. Collaborate closely with Advancement, Communications and Marketing, Enrollment and Family Engagement, Athletics, Student Life, Campus Ministry, and academic departments to strengthen relationships with alumni and the broader community. Other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, nonprofit management, education, advancement, or a related field. Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and public-speaking skills. Ability and willingness to attend evening and weekend events as necessary. 3 to 5 years of experience in alumni relations, advancement, development, communications, public relations, marketing, community engagement, or a related field is preferred. Experience in Catholic education, independent schools, higher education, nonprofit advancement, alumni relations, communications, or community relations.
