We serve food sourced exclusively from the Chesapeake watershed, and only direct trade coffee and teas. It is important that our Baristas understand and respect this aspect of our service as it guides our program's mission.A detailed list of responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Have a warm, outgoing persona with a strong interest in providing great service and maintaining great relationships with co-workersEnsure that the coffee bar is well maintained, clean, organized and stockedBe able to dial in espresso grinder adjustments, shot extraction parameters, and to calibrate by tasteSpeak knowledgeably about each coffee we are serving, including an understanding of the regional variationsExecute high volume service by multi-tasking and consistently showing a sense of urgencyAdhere to company policies and protocols, both behind the bar and in the front of houseDemonstrate a passion for specialty coffee and local, organic, responsibly sourced foodHave a desire to continue learning more about coffeeTo fulfill these requirements, we expect that the applicant will have at least a High School diploma, with at least 1-2 years working in a high level barista program.
