Macdonald & Company are proudly partnered with a growing real estate investment and operating platform seeking a Senior Vice President of Multifamily Asset Management to join its leadership team in South Florida. Our client is an entrepreneurial real estate investment firm focused on value-add and opportunity-driven investments across multifamily and other real estate asset classes throughout key Sunbelt markets. The firm is actively expanding its multifamily platform through acquisitions, operational improvements, and capital investment initiatives, with a strong focus on driving long-term portfolio performance and value creation.The Senior Vice President of Multifamily Asset Management will serve as the senior-most multifamily asset management leader within the organization, reporting directly into ownership and firm leadership. This individual will oversee portfolio performance across the full investment lifecycle, working closely with acquisitions, finance, capital projects, and property management teams to execute business plans, maximize asset performance, and support continued portfolio growth.ResponsibilitiesOversee multifamily portfolio performance across multiple markets and asset typesDevelop and execute asset-level business plans aligned with investment objectives and return targetsMonitor financial and operational performance across the portfolio, including NOI growth, occupancy, leasing performance, and expense managementReview and approve annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and multi-year business plansAnalyze monthly and quarterly financial reporting, operational KPIs, and variance reportingDrive value-add initiatives including renovations, amenity upgrades, repositioning strategies, and operational improvementsPartner closely with capital projects and construction leadership to oversee renovation scopes, budgets, and timelinesEvaluate capital investment performance and renovation ROI against underwriting assumptionsOversee third-party and in-house property management operations across the portfolioEstablish performance expectations, reporting standards, and operational KPIs for property management teamsConduct regular asset and operational reviews to identify performance improvement opportunitiesManage lender relationships, reporting requirements, debt compliance, and refinancing initiativesSupport investor reporting, portfolio updates, and communications with equity and lending partnersCollaborate with acquisitions teams during due diligence, underwriting review, and post-acquisition onboardingProvide input on hold/sell strategy, disposition planning, and broader portfolio strategy discussionsLead and mentor asset management professionals while helping establish scalable processes and best practices across the platformQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field requiredAdvanced degree such as an MBA or Master’s in Real Estate preferred12+ years of progressive multifamily asset management, real estate private equity, or institutional investment management experienceProven experience overseeing multifamily portfolios across multiple markets with direct leadership responsibilityStrong background executing value-add and opportunistic multifamily investment strategiesDeep understanding of multifamily operations, financial analysis, NOI optimization, and portfolio performance managementExperience overseeing renovation programs, repositioning initiatives, and capital improvement executionEstablished experience working with property management groups, lenders, consultants, and operational partnersExperience with agency debt, bridge financing, and multifamily capital structures preferredPrior experience within a family office, private equity platform, REIT, or institutional investment environment strongly preferredStrong leadership, communication, analytical, and strategic decision-making capabilitiesAbility to operate independently within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentStrong financial modeling and reporting capabilities with advanced Excel proficiencyExperience with real estate and property management systems such as Argus, Yardi, RealPage, CoStar, or similar platforms preferredWillingness to travel periodically across portfolio markets as required
