What You'll Do

The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of mechanical field operations at assigned job sites. This position provides leadership to field crews engaged in the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related equipment. The Foreman ensures that work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned field personnel.

Plan daily work assignments, manpower requirements, material needs, and equipment usage.

Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and related documentation to ensure accurate execution of work.

Monitor job site progress and adjust work plans as needed to maintain productivity and schedule adherence.

Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and project requirements.

Conduct daily job site safety briefings and enforce safe work practices.

Coordinate work activities with project management, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades.

Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure quality and conformance to plans and specifications.

Identify and resolve field issues in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, time records, material usage, and progress updates.

Assist with the training, coaching, and evaluation of field employees.

Monitor tool, material, and equipment requirements and communication needs to management.

Support system installation, testing, startup, and project closeout activities as required.

Promote a positive, productive, and professional work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities: (scope of the person's authority, including a list of positions that report to this position).

This position has full authority to conduct annual performance reviews, build quarterly goals, and make requests for pay increases to the Superintendent. Manage and report employee disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspensions, and documentation of performance issues.

Requirements

Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• OSHA certifications

Required Knowledge:


Minimum 5 years verifiable experience in commercial HVAC and/or construction field

Minimum 5 years of experiences in large commercial construction

Skill and Ability:


Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.


Team player

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Must be detail oriented

Ability to use significant independent judgment

Excellent time management skills

Proficiency in the use of basic computer and mobile technology preferred. (Computer, Tablet, smartphone, Microsoft Teams, Procore, BIM)

Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, and installation practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Working knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and industry practices.

Valid driver's license is required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment: (This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting. The incumbent must be able to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions, and may be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in other physically demanding conditions.)
