What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional , you will:

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation, household tasks, and personal care needs
• Support individuals in developing skills that promote independence and improve quality of life
• Provide supervision, guidance, and encouragement in the home and community
• Assist with community participation, recreational activities, appointments, and family visits
• Foster positive relationships and a safe, supportive environment
• Document services, progress, and activities in accordance with agency requirements
• Respond appropriately to crisis situations and follow established intervention procedures
• Administer medications and maintain accurate medication documentation as required
• Assist with implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) and behavioral support strategies
• Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and other approved destinations
• Complete required documentation, reports, logs, and training requirements
• Promote trauma-informed care and person-centered supports

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Basic computer and internet skills
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and documenting in English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to complete required trainings, including CPR, First Aid, and medication administration certification

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
• Previous experience in human services
• Experience working with individuals experiencing behavioral health or housing-related challenges
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Flexible scheduling based on program needs
• Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
• Schedule subject to change based on business needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and assist individuals as needed
• Ability to drive and transport individuals safely when required
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
