Job Description

The Spray Technician executes spray operations in a climate-controlled paint booth, maintains spray equipment, and accurately collects operational data. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude to set up, operate, and adjust spray guns and related equipment while working safely with coatings and industrial materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust spray guns and related equipment for coating applications.
• Execute spray operations in a climate-controlled paint booth according to established procedures and quality standards.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, masking, and other paint preparation activities.
• Apply industrial coatings and spray foam to parts and surfaces with consistent coverage and finish quality.
• Use hand tools and related equipment to support coating and painting processes.
• Maintain, clean, and perform basic troubleshooting on spray equipment and tools to ensure reliable operation.
• Monitor coating processes and collect data on application parameters, material usage, and production output.
• Follow safety procedures when working with chemicals, coatings, and spray equipment, including proper use of respirators.
• Inspect finished work for quality, identifying defects and making necessary adjustments or touch-ups.
• Work collaboratively with team members in a chemical manufacturing environment to meet production schedules and quality targets.

Essential Skills

• 2–4 years of spray foam or industrial coating experience.
• Hands-on experience with spray painting and industrial painting processes.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating spray guns and related spray equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude for operating and maintaining coating equipment.
• Experience with paint preparation, including surface cleaning and masking.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively in an industrial setting.
• Comfort working in a climate-controlled paint booth environment.
• Ability and willingness to wear respirators and follow safety protocols when working with chemicals and coatings.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or similar industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with industrial coatings used in chemical manufacturing environments.
• Attention to detail in achieving consistent coating thickness and finish quality.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for spray equipment and tools.
• Ability to follow written procedures and document process data accurately.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to environmental and workplace guidelines.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled, clean, and well-organized facility within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will work primarily in a paint booth using spray guns, industrial coating equipment, and hand tools. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Respirator use is required when working with coatings and chemicals, and all work is performed under established safety and cleanliness standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
