Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to cardiac patients in accordance with established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor patient status, interpret data (including hemodynamics), and adjust care plans as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitor for adverse effects, and manage invasive lines and devices per policy.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and other disciplines; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing staff on the unit, delegate tasks appropriately, and promote a safe, healing environment.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS or ARC-ALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in acute cardiac care or a closely related field
• Balloon pump/open heart recovery experience required
• BSN degree preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced cardiac care environment
