Job Summary

The Customer Service Attendant (CSA) provides friendly and efficient service to customers while supporting multiple areas of the restaurant, including the register, dining area, beverage station, and panini/food preparation station. This position is responsible for taking and processing orders, preparing beverages and select food items, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring a positive guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner and assist with questions, requests, and menu selections.
• Take customer food and beverage orders accurately and enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process payments by cash, credit/debit card, vouchers, or other approved payment methods.
• Issue refunds, voids, or credits with manager approval and in accordance with company procedures.
• Count and verify cash drawers at the beginning and/or end of shifts and reconcile payments with sales as required.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso-based beverages, blended drinks, and tea, according to established recipes and customer requests.
• Prepare paninis, sandwiches, and other designated food items according to established recipes, portion standards, and customer specifications.
• Operate panini presses and other approved food preparation equipment safely and according to company procedures.
• Assemble, heat, plate, package, and present food items according to company quality and presentation standards.
• Follow proper food handling, temperature control, sanitation, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
• Maintain the panini and food preparation area in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition throughout the shift.
• Restock ingredients, packaging, condiments, beverages, and other supplies as needed.
• Answer customer questions regarding beverages, menu items, bakery products, paninis, ingredients, and catering offerings.
• Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers as needed.
• Check completed orders for accuracy, quality, and presentation before serving or handing them to customers.
• Respond appropriately to customer concerns and involve a manager when necessary.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout, beverage, food preparation, and dining areas.
• Complete general cleaning duties, including cleaning tables, chairs, counters, equipment, and floors; removing dirty dishes; replenishing supplies; and emptying trash.
• Collect plates, cups, and other service items and clear tables as customers finish their meals.
• Restock stations and roll silverware as needed.
• Follow all company food safety, sanitation, cash-handling, and customer service policies and procedures.
• Assist other team members and restaurant areas as operational needs require.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to take, prepare, and fulfill food and beverage orders accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
• Ability to safely operate POS systems, beverage equipment, panini presses, and other designated restaurant equipment.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn proper food handling, sanitation, allergen, and cross-contamination procedures.
• Ability to multitask and transition between customer service, cashier, beverage preparation, food preparation, and cleaning responsibilities.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, food quality, and order accuracy.

Education and Experience

• Previous restaurant, customer service, cashier, food preparation, or similar experience preferred.
• Previous experience preparing sandwiches, paninis, or similar food items is preferred but not required.
• Must successfully complete all required company training, including food safety and position-specific training.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to safely work around hot surfaces and food preparation equipment, including panini presses.
• Must be able to perform duties in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Must be available to work scheduled shifts, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
