About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent experience in the Operating Room License: Compact or KY State License required at time of submission Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Level 1 experience desired Total Joints, Orthopedic Spine, Gynecological, and Minimally Invasive Surgery experience is required Previous charge experience is preferred Description: Level 1 experience is desired. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience in the Operating Room and hold BLS certification. Staff will be expected to work in a variety of specialty areas including Total Joints, Orthopedic Spine, Gynecological, and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Local travelers are not accepted within 100 miles. Call policy requires a response time of 40 minutes. During the first 6-week schedule, staff will have 2-3 calls during the week. In the next 6-week period, staff will be assigned a weekend call. Candidates are required to float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby. Compliance requirements include passing core exams, a basic math exam, an OR competency exam, and a no-medication exam or NIHSS. Modules averaging 6.5 hours must be completed during orientation and annually, varying by specialty. Staff must be aware of previous employment at this facility for eligibility for rehire checks conducted weekly. Licensure hits cannot be accepted. All time off must be presented at the time of submission, as requests after the offer will not be approved.
