HVAC AssemblerJoin a skilled assembly team in Addison, IL, where you will modify and customize commercial HVAC units to meet detailed customer specifications. You will perform both mechanical and electrical assembly, integrating components such as valves, piping, controls, and drives, while ensuring each unit meets strict quality, safety, and performance standards.ResponsibilitiesModify commercial HVAC units according to detailed customer specifications and engineering drawings.Install and assemble components including raw valves, copper piping, electrical controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), fans and blowers, and wiring panels.Perform mechanical and electrical assembly work on incoming units, primarily from major HVAC manufacturers.Interpret blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions accurately to guide assembly and modifications.Ensure all modifications meet established quality, safety, and performance standards before final delivery.Test assembled units for proper functionality and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues as needed.Use tape measures, hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.Operate machines and work on assembly lines and general production tasks as required.Perform basic mechanical assembly and general labor duties to support production flow.Identify and resolve basic mechanical and electrical problems using troubleshooting skills.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop and safety guidelines.Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineering staff to ensure timely completion of projects and smooth workflow.Follow all safety procedures when working around galvanized steel and other industrial materials.Essential SkillsProven ability to work with tape measures and accurately measure components for assembly.Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly, production, or industrial environment.Ability to perform mechanical assembly work, including working on assembly lines and general production tasks.Basic understanding of electrical wiring and mechanical systems relevant to HVAC equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.General machine operating experience in a production or job shop environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during the shift.Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.Comfort working around galvanized steel and in an industrial setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in mechanical assembly or HVAC-related assembly is beneficial.Experience with general labor or general production work in a manufacturing or job shop environment.Troubleshooting skills for basic mechanical and electrical issues.Ability to work effectively with hand and power tools across different stages of assembly.Familiarity with machine operation in a production setting.Experience working in environments that may be hot, dirty, and not optimally lit.Ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines.Why Work Here?Employees have the opportunity to share in company ownership through an employee stock ownership structure, fostering a culture of shared success and long-term growth. The facility operates on two primary shifts: first shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and second shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The workspace can be hot, dirty, and not optimally lit, and involves typical industrial conditions such as noise, dust, and heavy materials. Team members regularly use tape measures, hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment, and may perform machine operation and assembly line tasks. Appropriate industrial work attire is required to support safety and comfort in this environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
