Mechanical Assembler / Production Team Member
Location: Elmhurst, IL
Pay: $18–$23/hour
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Are you mechanically inclined and looking to build a long-term career with a growing manufacturer? We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler / Production Team Member to join a clean, organized, and team-oriented production environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work hands-on assembling industrial process equipment while developing valuable mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
What You'll Do- Assemble custom industrial process water chillers and related equipment
- Fit and braze copper tubing
- Assemble brass fittings and piping components
- Wire basic electrical components and assemblies
- Read and interpret piping diagrams, wiring schematics, and assembly drawings
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Experience fitting and brazing copper tubing
- Ability to wire basic electrical components
- Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience assembling piping, fittings, and related components
- Ability to read wiring schematics and piping drawings
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
