• Evaluate patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions, assess their clinical status, and suggest suitable therapeutic interventions.
• Administer various respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and manage mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments, identify changes in clinical conditions, and communicate findings to physicians and the healthcare team promptly.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas collection, pulmonary function tests, and bedside respiratory assessments as necessary.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory conditions, treatment plans, equipment usage, and strategies for maintaining respiratory health.
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity of care.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement personalized care plans.
• Maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring it operates correctly while adhering to infection control and patient safety standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education, specialty certifications, and resources that support long-term career growth.

To qualify for this Respiratory Therapist position, you should be dedicated to providing high-quality respiratory care while offering support and reassurance to patients and their families during critical times.

• You must possess an active New Jersey Respiratory Therapist License (RRT) or Certification (RCT) in good standing.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting and familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems are preferred.
