Medical Assistant (Certified) I

Job Overview The Certified Medical Assistant is an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care and administrative support in a health system medical practice. Key Responsibilities Accompany patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations Perform and document vital signs Assist with procedures Prepare and administer medications with physician authorization Perform EKGs Use CPR skills when required Draw blood Provide patient education regarding office policies, medication, disease management, home treatments, and special diets Stock exam rooms, clean rooms and instruments, and dispose of biohazard waste per OSHA standards Maintain accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent (required) At least 1 year of related customer‑facing experience (required) Healthcare experience preferred Skills and Abilities Computer knowledge High level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, visitors, and clinical staff Attention to detail and high accuracy Ability to work independently with limited supervision Phlebotomy skills and experience Licenses and Certifications Certified Clinical Medical Assistant – National Healthcareer Association (required) Certified Medical Assistant – American Association of Medical Assistants (required) Medical Assistant – American Medical Technologist (required) National Certified Medical Assistant – National Center for Competency Testing (required) Basic Life Support Certified – American Heart Association (required) Physical Demand Light physical demand.
