INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICAL SUPPORT ANALYST II/CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

Position Overview This is an emergency position for Information Technology Technical Support Analyst II in the Correctional Health Services under the DOJ Consent Decree. Applicants may be hired for up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment following a performance assessment. Bonus: Up to 20% Recruitment and Retention Bonus for full‑time positions working on‑site at a designated facility. Essential Job Functions Installs, configures, maintains and tests computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment. Acts as a technical resource, troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves moderately complex hardware, software and network connectivity problems, including those not covered by established procedures. Identifies trends in problem calls and implements improvements. Analyzes and recommends user support needs and/or customer satisfaction improvements. Reviews, tests and finalizes user instructions; conducts training and develops training materials as necessary. Leads small hardware/software installation and upgrade projects and participates in larger complex projects; assists in defining and recommending hardware/software specifications. Configures software distribution tools and manages licensing and inventory/asset control. Acts in a lead capacity for other technical staff as needed. Minimum Requirements Option I : One year experience at the level of an IT Technical Support Analyst I. Option II : Two years experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing client computing devices or software in a centralized IT organization. Licenses and Physical Demands Valid California Class C Driver's License or alternative transportation method. Physical Class III – moderate: required standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds. Qualifications Experience meeting one of the minimum requirement options. Proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and installation of IT equipment and software. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
