Motivate employees to follow the safety culture through administration of a Proactive Safety Measure program and consistent communication of CMC safety standards Support contractor safety and assist in coordinating their work activity with CMC employees and plant operations Assist, conduct and follow up of safety council meetings and monthly facility inspections Assist facility in development of corrective actions for identified hazard, to include but not limited to implementation, tracking and follow up Coordinate/facilitate all required employee training including but not limited to New Employee Safety Orientation, annual required re‑training, forklift, material handler, overhead crane, and site specific equipment safeguards Perform regular reporting of safety metrics, incident investigations, projects/initiatives, outstanding safety issues, and any other reporting deemed necessary Collect, organize and analyze data to be able to spot trends, evaluate program effectiveness and propose initiatives What You'll Need Minimum 3 years of experience identifying and addressing workplace hazards, including incident prevention and safety committee leadership Basic knowledge of OSHA General Industry Regulations required Overall knowledge of the steel making process is a plus Proficiency with computer operating systems, to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required Web based safety management system experience is a plus Passion to continuously build a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop or deliver safety programs and training materials Proven ability to perform safely, build relationships, and convey important safety initiatives across the organizationMust be able to work an on‑call schedule Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather Your Education High School Diploma or GED required We are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
