Job#: 3053336 Job Description: Business Analyst Location: Frankfort, Kentucky (Partial Remote) Role Overview Our client is seeking a qualified Senior Business Analyst to support the migration of Microsoft Access databases and other data repositories to a new, separate database system. The Senior BA will serve as a bridge between technical teams and end users by developing clear, accurate, and actionable documentation to support a smooth transition, minimize downtime, and maintain data integrity. The selected candidate will work at a high level of information systems analysis, considering the business implications of technology for current and future environments. Key Responsibilities Develop step-by-step migration guides, checklists, procedures, and troubleshooting documentation for migrating data repositories to the new system. Collaborate with database administrators, developers, IT support, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate data mappings. Identify and implement appropriate systems analysis procedures and facilitate requirements-gathering activities with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contribute to strategic planning, promote the effective use of technical services to resolve business problems, and manage customer expectations. Organize and maintain project documentation in a centralized repository, ensuring materials remain accurate and current. Proofread and edit technical documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and completeness. Evaluate migration outcomes, update documentation as needed, and incorporate feedback from end users and project stakeholders. Assist in developing technical standards, procedures, and policies that meet customer and departmental needs. Adjust priorities and deliverables as departmental needs and project requirements evolve. Required Qualifications Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, structured user stories, and formal requirements specifications. Familiarity with Microsoft Access, SQL, and Microsoft Excel. Experience: Experience facilitating requirements gathering workshops and collaborating effectively with non-technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Ability to analyze data structures, data mappings, migration processes, and migration scripts. Professional Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document technical processes and data integrity checks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively translate technical information for business users. Demonstrated ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing solutions, priorities, and departmental requirements.
