Job Title: Pharmacist Job Description

The Pharmacist plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe, effective use of medications within a 503B manufacturing pharmacy. In this position, you apply your clinical expertise to manage pharmacy operations, oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes. You ensure regulatory compliance, provide comprehensive patient counseling, and support clinical services while working in a supportive environment that values continuous learning, professional growth, and high standards of patient service.

• Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulations, and pharmaceutical compliance requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and provide individualized counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and drug–drug or drug–disease interactions.
• Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations, including overseeing inventory management, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring medications are stored, labeled, and handled according to regulatory standards.
• Perform and supervise sterile and non-sterile compounding using aseptic techniques, ensuring full compliance with USP 797, USP 795, and USP 800 standards.
• Utilize pharmacy software, Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document patient care activities accurately and maintain complete, up-to-date records.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, support clinical pharmacy services, and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
• Ensure strict adherence to healthcare compliance policies, including HIPAA and clinical confidentiality standards, when handling patient information and communicating with care teams.
• Lead or participate in managing pharmacy teams by supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff, providing guidance, and helping maintain high standards of safety, quality, and patient service.
• Support and help lead clinical initiatives related to specialized areas such as pediatrics or pain management, contributing clinical insight and medication expertise.
• Apply critical care knowledge, including physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, to evaluate complex medication regimens and support safe medication administration.
• Oversee and participate in IV infusion-related activities, ensuring proper aseptic technique and adherence to medication administration protocols.
• Participate in acute care procedures and immunization-related activities within scope of practice and organizational policies.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance pharmacy workflows, patient education, and clinical outcomes.

• Active, in-good-standing Florida-registered Pharmacist License.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in pharmacy or a related field.
• Demonstrated critical care experience with a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in sterile and non-sterile compounding, including aseptic technique and IV infusion preparation.
• Extensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation processes, and healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA.
• Ability to use Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and pharmacy software platforms effectively.
• Strong skills in inventory management, including tracking, ordering, and maintaining appropriate medication stock levels.
• Exceptional patient service and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medication information clearly across community or hospital settings.
• Experience in managing pharmacy teams, including supervising pharmacy technicians and leading clinical initiatives.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Hands-on experience with immunizations and acute care procedures.

• PharmD or advanced pharmacy education is highly beneficial.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or 503B compounding environment.
• Background in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and quality-focused workflows.
• Experience with pediatrics or pain management clinical initiatives.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities in a regulated environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in dispensing, compounding, and documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and adapt to evolving clinical and operational needs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with changes in pharmacy practice, regulations, and compounding standards.

This role is 100% onsite in a closed-door 503B manufacturing pharmacy environment, where you work directly within a highly regulated and quality-driven setting. You can expect part-time hours ranging from approximately 14 to 32 hours per week, allowing flexibility to balance other professional commitments such as PRN or per-diem work. The environment centers on sterile and non-sterile compounding, IV infusion preparation, and adherence to USP 797, 795, and 800 standards. You work with modern pharmacy technologies, including Pharmacy Information Systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and specialized inventory management tools, in a setting that emphasizes safety, accuracy, and confidentiality. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
