Staff Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of GAAP, hands-on month-end close experience, and a background in financial analysis. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and supporting business decision-making through analysis and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify variances, trends, and discrepancies.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis to support management reporting and strategic planning.
• Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports.
• Support audits by preparing requested schedules, documentation, and reconciliations.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
• Partner cross-functionally with finance and operational teams to provide insight into financial performance.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior accountant or staff accountant role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven experience managing or supporting the month-end close process.
• Experience performing financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to leadership and business partners.
• Process improvement mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
