Insurance Coordinator

Our office, Lowell, Nashua & Chelmsford Oral Surgery - Chelmsford is seeking an Insurance Coordinator to join our busy specialty practice.

As an Insurance Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the maximum benefits from their insurance coverage while delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Your Responsibilities:

* Verify patients' dental insurance coverage and benefits. * Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations for treatments. * Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and estimated costs. * Submit accurate and timely insurance claims electronically and via mail. * Follow up on outstanding insurance claims, appeals, and denials. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental insurance policies and industry changes. * Collaborate with the front desk and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient information and treatment codes. * Provide excellent customer service by addressing insurance-related inquiries and concerns. * Educate patients on available payment options for uncovered services.

As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.

Your Background

We are currently seeking a Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring smooth insurance operations for our patients. As a vital part of our practice, you will be responsible for managing insurance claims, facilitating billing processes, and providing top-notch support to our patients regarding their insurance-related inquiries. You also have the following:

* 3-5 years of medical and dental experience required * High school diploma or equivalent. * Previous experience as a dental insurance coordinator or in a similar role is preferred. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. * Proficiency in dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite. * Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Problem-solving skills to navigate insurance claim discrepancies and denials. * High level of professionalism and a patient-centric attitude. * Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

* Must be able to operate standard office equipment

* Must be able to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas

* Must be able to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods

* Must be able to work around medical equipment and instruments

* Must be able to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards

* Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements

* Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations
