Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Cardiac ICU position in a Level I Trauma Center, requiring CT or compact licensure and critical care experience with PA catheters.

Responsibilities

• Short-term acute care hospital setting in the Cardiac ICU (CCU)
• Level I Trauma Center with over 1,000 beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient ratio is typically 1:2 including days, nights, and weekends
• Floating required to ICU and PCU units
• Care for cardiac critical patients including those with PA catheters
• Uses Epic electronic medical record system
• Position available to first-time travelers
• Pre-start and annual modules required, estimated completion time 2 hours
• Must participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• Limited paid parking available at an additional cost
• RTO of up to 7 days can be auto approved
• Team-based environment with support for new travelers

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license (or proof of application prior to start)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years critical care experience required, or 1.5 years if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital
• Experience with PA catheters required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required unless with approved religious or medical exemption
• Must provide one professional reference
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Returning staff must have been gone for at least 2 years to be considered
