Medical TechnologistSchedule: Day Shift - 7 Days On, 7 Days Off (Thursday, 0500 to the following Wednesday at 1730, followed by 7 days off; minimal call time required)Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 weeks; Guaranteed Hours: 36Requirements:Certification/Registration with ASCP, NCA, NEW, or equivalent registryPhlebotomy experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishBilingual skills are a plusResponsibilities:Coordinate testing procedures and clinical data with medical staffPerform EKGs, phlebotomies, therapeutic phlebotomies, arterial and capillary collectionsClarify physician's orders and address questions regarding orders, specimens, and resultsMaintain standards in routine, timed, and STAT testingAssist in the orientation and training of new employeesPrepare and monitor quality control charts and instrument maintenance protocolsDemonstrate knowledge in patient care delivery that optimizes patient safetyCorrelate results with diagnoses and question incompatible resultsCompliance / Notes: On-call responsibilities may be required.
