Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Coordinator

Moreau Catholic High School

Moreau Catholic High School is currently seeking an Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Coordinator . Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college‑preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With approximately 844 students, the co‑educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors have been accepted into 1,000+ universities and colleges yearly, and have garnered, on average, between $11-14 million in scholarships and grants. Position Description The Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives as a member of the Advancement Department. Their focus is on building relationships between Moreau Catholic High School and current and prospective donors, whose involvement and financial support are vital to achieving the school’s strategic vision and goals. The Coordinator has primary responsibility for alumni engagement initiatives, including all fundraising, reunion management, and alumni events. They are also responsible for managing annual giving through the Parent Pledge program. Alongside all members of the Advancement Department, they share responsibility for planning and implementing a comprehensive, metric‑driven fundraising program, including formulating annual and multi‑year plans, goals, and objectives; identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major and planned gifts in strategic consultation with the Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Actively manage a portfolio of at least 120 alumni donors/prospects each year. Personally qualify, cultivate, and solicit strategic “asks” in support of the School’s strategic fundraising goals. Identify and qualify major gift prospects from within the alumni and current family donor pool. Collaborate with the Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives to develop appropriate engagement opportunities for major gift prospects within the current family donor pool and to assist with cultivation and strategic gift asks. Collaborate with the Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives and the Advancement Department to manage the Parent Pledge program. In collaboration with the Stewardship Coordinator, keep up‑to‑date, detailed records of all current school families’ time, talent, and treasure donations and manage communications associated with the program. Lead innovative outreach efforts that bring alumni and current families to a greater connection and engagement in the life of the school. In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications, take the lead on digital communications that inform and inspire alumni. This includes all alumni‑specific social media channels, email, and text communications. Serve as the primary liaison between the Senior Class and the school to choose a Senior Class gift, plan New Alumni events, choose, train, and celebrate Senior Class Ambassadors, host the Baccalaureate Mass Reception, and cultivate continued engagement and time, talent, and treasure gifts over their first few years as graduates of Moreau Catholic. Plan and execute memorable alumni events that celebrate the Mariner family and foster connections with the school. Continually assess the school event calendar for opportunities to engage alumni, recognize alumni, and secure alumni speakers that maximize both school traditions and the potential for major gifts. Assist with school events for current families that celebrate community and foster connection. Collaborate with the Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives and the Advancement Department to invite and cultivate alumni who are in leadership positions in their professional fields to the Moreau Catholic Community Circle program. Assist the Advancement department in running Community Circle activities Champion the Moreau Catholic spirit as a trusted ambassador and advocate Bring energy, vision, and warmth to every interaction Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in non‑profit or educational fundraising. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Certification preferred, or the willingness to take steps to obtain certification within the first few years of employment. Demonstrated track record of solicitation of major gifts and cultivation of annual and recurring donors. Demonstrated track record of successful management of a large donor portfolio and the ability to develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and closing strategies for charitable gifts. Demonstrated successful experience in both face‑to‑face and virtual fundraising. Outstanding knowledge of and expert‑level skills in using fundraising data software and database management software. Outstanding skills in all digital marketing tools, including email/text marketing and social media. Demonstrated ability to deal professionally, diplomatically, and comfortably with high‑level donors. Deep appreciation and understanding of the academic enterprise and the ability to articulate academic values internally and externally. Familiarity with and support of Holy Cross values and the mission of Moreau Catholic High School. Expertise with relationship‑building and the ability to share compelling stories of outstanding student achievement across all areas of school life. A disciplined, results‑oriented self‑starter with high ethical standards. Outstanding analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to establish measurable goals and objectives and to develop and implement strategies to achieve them. Ability to travel and schedule flexibility.
