About the Role Temple Beth Sholom is a vibrant, growing congregation seeking a proactive and organized Operations & Engagement Coordinator . This isn't just an office job; you are the "engine" that keeps our community running and the "warm face" that makes members feel at home. This role is a unique hybrid: you will balance the technical precision of database management and financial billing with the creative energy of event curation and community outreach. Core Responsibilities 1. Operations & Financial Administration Systems Management: Serve as the primary administrator for our member database (CRM/ShulCloud); maintain accurate records for families, yahrzeits, and lifecycle events. Financial Flow: Manage member billing cycles, process donations, and provide basic financial reporting to the Executive Director. Office Management: Oversee purchasing for office and ritual supplies; manage vendor relationships (janitorial, utilities, etc.); and handle primary phone/reception duties. 2. Event Coordination & Curation Logistics: Track event registrations and manage the logistical needs for Shabbat, holidays, and special programs. Curation: Elevate the community experience by coordinating food/catering, thoughtful space decoration, and ensuring all ritual items are prepared and in place. Calendar Oversight: Maintain the master community calendar (online and internal) to ensure seamless scheduling across all departments. 3. Communications & Digital Engagement Web & Social: Perform regular updates to the temple website and manage our social media presence to highlight community life. Outreach: Coordinate the weekly email newsletter and digital announcements. 4. Volunteer Liaison Connection: Act as the main point of contact for members looking to get involved. Coordination: Recruit and organize volunteers for specific programs and events, ensuring they have the information they need to succeed. Qualifications Education: AA or BA in Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field. Experience: 2+ years in an administrative or coordination role. Experience in a non-profit, congregational, or Jewish community settings is a significant plus. Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Strong Excel skills required) and Google Workspace. Experience with CRMs is essential. Cultural Curiosity: While knowledge of Jewish customs is a plus, we prioritize a candidate who is eager to learn and integrate into the unique rhythms of Jewish communal life.
