AVP/VP, Portfolio Manager

Responsibilities Maintain and monitor the commercial loan portfolio, working closely with SRMs and Team Managers. Ensure each credit is properly risk‑rated according to the Bank’s risk rating system. Maintain and grow existing client relationships, cross‑sell Bank products and services. Oversee credit underwriting and origination of new credits from the existing client base, including portfolio monitoring, renewals, amendments, and annual reviews. Collaborate with designated underwriters, loan assistants, and loan support staff to prepare the Credit Commitment Report (CCR). Review client accounts and portfolios to identify, evaluate, and determine appropriate actions on potential credit quality issues, aiming to maximize credit quality and minimize risk. Ensure compliance with Bank, regulatory, and credit requirements while delivering best‑in‑class customer service within required timeframes. Qualifications Education: U.S. college graduate with a major in a related field (strongly preferred). Experience: 5‑7 years of loan account relationship management or credit underwriting experience (or a combination of both). Thorough knowledge of lending regulations and credit/underwriting practices. Strong loan portfolio management experience. Strong negotiation experience (rates, terms, collateral requirements). Prior underwriting experience in commercial lending. Extensive knowledge of the Bank’s credit policy, risk management, underwriting requirements, and loan servicing. Deep understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and services with a proven ability to cross‑sell. Skills and Abilities: PC proficiency; excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual in English and Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus but not required; ability to work independently, reorganize loans and lines of credit, remain organized, detail‑oriented, and multi‑task; work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑production team environment; excellent time management; responsible and accountable decision‑making; effective communication with all levels of Bank personnel. Salary & Benefits AVP - $70K - $95K / year VP - $95K– $130K / year Pay is determined based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
