Survey Crew Chief

Responsibilities Lead field operations and direct a crew on various projects such as topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and construction stakeouts. Operate and troubleshoot advanced survey equipment independently, including Trimble robotic total stations and GPS. Ensure data integrity and QA/QC by maintaining detailed field notes and performing on‑site quality control. Manage project schedules, coordinate with project managers and clients, and mentor junior crew members. Apply experience to solve complex field challenges and adapt to changing project conditions. Qualifications 8+ years of survey crew chief experience. Demonstrated experience in the use of GPS devices, data collectors, and/or total stations. Independent judgment and initiative. Knowledge of principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying. Knowledge of computer‑aided drafting and civil engineering principles and construction specifications. Knowledge of industry‑specific safe workplace practices. Familiarity with column and bolt‑pattern layout and as‑built surveys, detailed topographic and ADA surveys. Ability to operate motorized equipment. Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions. Some travel may be required. Valid driver’s license.
