Sr. Engineer, Manufacturing

Abbott seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for its Electrophysiology medical device business in Irvine, California. This role oversees manufacturing operations for a cardiac device product line, driving quality, yield, efficiency, and cost improvements while serving as a technical expert with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned manufacturing line quality, output, yield, safety, and cost performance
• Lead root cause analysis and implement process improvements using DMAIC and Lean/Six Sigma principles
• Manage equipment design, improvement, and lifecycle management for manufacturing fixtures
• Develop and execute cost improvement projects while mitigating production and safety risks
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cross-functional teams and line operators

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years manufacturing engineering or process development experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
• Medical device experience strongly preferred
• Lean/Six Sigma certification with demonstrated project execution
• Experience with electrophysiology catheter products preferred
