About the Role

If you are a lifecycle marketing leader who excels at connecting strategy to always-on execution and thrives in a complex, cross-functional environment, this role is for you.

As part of Elsevier's Research Marketing organization serving the Academic & Government markets, the Director for Lifecycle Marketing leads the strategy, operating model, and performance of A&G lifecycle programs, including web presence and always-on new sales and renewal programs. You will ensure alignment across Audience, Product, Customer Success, and Digital Ops to drive adoption, expansion, and renewal. As the team leader, you will manage a team of talented marketers in multiple regions while owning the campaign and marketing channel approach for the full lifecycle journey from demand capture through to customer value realization.

Responsibilities

• Lead lifecycle strategy, portfolio roadmap, and prioritization across programs and web experience
• Own lifecycle and web KPIs, testing agenda, and the insight loop driving continuous optimization
• Ensure cross-functional operating model and alignment across Audience, Product, Customer Success, and Digital Ops
• Drive pipeline progression, adoption, expansion, and renewal-support outcomes
• Build team capability through mentorship, coaching, and leadership development
• Inform marketing tech stack roadmap through partnering with Digital Ops and tech teams
• Report into VP of Demand & Lifecycle Marketing
• Deliver scalable, always-on programs across the buyer and user journey

Requirements

• Strong experience leading lifecycle or demand marketing teams in complex, matrixed environments
• Proven ability to translate strategy into scalable programs and consistent execution across teams and regions
• Strong commercial, martech, and measurement fluency
• Excellent stakeholder leadership and people management, with a focus on coaching and capability development

If performed in New York City, the base pay range is $114,300 - $190,500.U.S. National Base Pay Range: $95,300 - $158,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. If performed in NLD Amsterdam (Radarweg), the base pay range is €100,400 - €167,300. This job may be subject to a collective labor agreement in the Netherlands. Please consult with the hiring team for further details.
