Key Responsibilities of the Cath Lab Technologist

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Handle cardiac implant closure devices and stent placements
• Conduct left and right heart catheterizations
• Execute percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and angioplasty (PTCA)
• Manage IABP placements and removals
• Interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
• Set up equipment and maintain sterile fields during procedures

Requirements of the Cath Lab Technologist

• Valid NY state license
• Minimum of 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience
• Certifications in ACLS, BLS, ARRT R (preferably ARRT, but RCIS accepted under conditions)
• Experience with EPIC charting system
