About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Legal Counsel with a focus on consumer regulatory and related legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing proactive and effective leadership in all areas of consumer regulatory legal advice and support, including litigation, contract management, real estate, corporate, and intellectual property. This role requires a hands-on approach to delivering business-oriented legal advice, managing outside counsel, and ensuring compliance with consumer regulatory trends and risks. The VP, Legal Counsel will also be involved in state and LTO audits, governmental investigations, and will provide legal support for the company's data privacy compliance program. Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school, be licensed to practice law, and have at least 10 years of experience in consumer retail or consumer finance regulatory matters. The role demands a professional with a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in MS Office. The ideal candidate will have a background in both in-house and law firm settings, with a proven track record of leadership. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The VP, Legal Counsel will also be expected to stay abreast of industry developments and the company's business activities, and to provide strong management for a team of legal professionals.
