About This Role

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, overseeing daily activities, implementing curriculum, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children while adhering to the Texas minimum standards for childcare centers.

1. Curriculum: Implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans in accordance with Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers, focusing on social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
2. Child Supervision: Supervise and engage children in activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
3. Classroom Management: Maintain a structured and organized classroom environment conducive to learning, play, and exploration.
4. Individualized Learning: Identify and address the individual needs of each child, offering support and guidance as necessary.
5. Parent Communication: Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
6. Staff Collaboration: Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to coordinate activities, share resources, and maintain a cohesive learning environment.
7. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations outlined in Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers, including maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and proper sanitation practices.
8. Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones, as required by Texas licensing regulations.

1. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred but not required.
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare center.
3. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
4. Knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
7. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

First Academy is organized and shall be operated exclusively for

charitable, religious, scientific, literary, and educational purposes

within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

of 1986, as amended (the “Code”) or the corresponding section of any

future federal tax code. FA will provide a safe and nurturing

environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, mental

and spiritual development of young children, allowing them to grow

and develop to be problem solvers while implementing age

appropriate curriculum. FA is a planned Christian weekday

education program for ages 6 weeks- 5 years with an after school

program.
