Job Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-hour night shifts, 7 PM - 7:30 AM (occasional 3 PM - 3 AM shifts if needed). Up to every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed. No call required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The position requires a strong commitment to quality patient care with special populations including cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in STEMI and Stroke facilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department setting.
• Utilize advanced skills in patient monitoring and care for critical conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage various emergency situations including trauma, cardiovascular, and neurological emergencies.
• Administer medications and perform procedures in accordance with the hospital protocol.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications are required.
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory.
• Previous charge experience and knowledge in managing a patient ratio of 4:1 is preferred.
• Experience in acute care, trauma level I or II, LTAC, and community hospitals preferred.
